Morp 2011

Its finally about time that I blog about Morp.
This year's theme was Rewind so basically we could pick any decade that we wanted and then dress up like the decade you chose. I feel like people dressed up in any costumes that they wanted which works just as well! I went with McCade and in our group was Erica and Tragen. I wanted to dress up like the future but instead we dressed up as hippies and the best hippies there if I might add. We couldn't have a "day" date on Saturday because Erica, McCade and I had state choir festival so instead we had a date friday night. We played minute to win it, McCade and I won, and then we had a bonfire and made smores and talked and then watched anchor man. The next day was state choir festival.. that definitely was not very fun however we got straight 1's so that was good.  After the festival Erica and I got ready and took a few pictures and then went and picked up the boys. First Erica and I had matching peace sign necklaces and then the boys showed up in matching wigs.. none of that was planned so it was pretty funny. We went back to my house and took pictures and then went to dinner. The boys got a lot of honks waves and laughs it was pretty entertaining. We had dinner at Mimi's cafe and then when we were finished we had a lot of time left so we went to burlington coat factory but first Tragen and McCade decided they wanted to dance in the parking lot they got a lot more waves and laughs, people even parked on the side of the road just to watch them. After Burlington we made our way over to the dance and basically just had a party and after the dance we went to Erica's house and had icee's and watched "The Shortcut" Over all it was definitely the best date I've ever been on. :)

Erica Brooke (Rick)

Erica Brooke Edwards....I call her Rick.

I kind of knew her last year... sort of  except she was the only girl in my choir class whose name I didn't know. This year we have choir together again however I don't really remember how we became friends but good thing we did!
We started texting a little and talking a little and then we hung out a few times and then we just became better friends overtime. We now hang out all the time text all the time and talk all the time (really all the time) We have so much in common and at the same time nothing in common for example she loves ultimate fighting and I can't stand it, I love scatman John and she can't stand it :) she always talks in sign language and I never know what she is saying.. often times ending in frustration, but we have so so much in common as well... number one we are the same height,  homework is not our first priorety, neither of us have curfews so we hang out a lot, we go on drives, we both definitely have the Bieber Fever, I converted her to loving the biebs. She will put up with my brattyness, I can call her or text her whenever with problems or concerns I am having, we go through similar experiences at the same time so she can definitely give me advice and help me through it, I can tell her how I really feel... I can go to her with anything even if its just to vent or complain or sometimes have melt downs. We don't get mad at each other or annoyed with each other, she will go with me to boys houses so I don't feel awkward even if it puts her in an awkward situation, I can tell her anything, she cheers me up when i'm feeling down, if I'm having a bad day she'll text me or call me to see if i'm doing ok, I can tell her anything, we go to sonic, we creep on people while listening to the creep song, we can sing as ugly as possible and love it, we have similar taste in music, we make boy lists, we make our own group for dances even if it means there are only two couples, we help each other ask or answer dates to dances, we can have a conversation without even talking, we have the weirdest inside jokes, we have a binder of just notes back and forth, we watch the weirdest movies and then quote them,  I can go to her house and sleep on her couch and cuddle with her dog, I call her parents mom and dad,  she may not realize it but I really appreciate everything she does for me. Thanks Rick.

The Facebook Challenge

A group of us including Me, Danielle, Madi, and Ben are sick of wasting time on facebook so we decided that we couldn't use facebook  FOR A WHOLE WEEK.  If we get on facebook before the week is up we owe everybody a candy bar. I thought it was going to be super hard because I am on facebook every single day, but it hasn't been quite as hard as I was thinking. I can almost say I don't miss it. We started this challenge last friday which means I have not been on facebook for 3 days and only 4 more days until I can reunite with my account.

Ridiculous

Spring in Utah is a joke.

Spring is supposed to be somewhat warm and nice outside.

Not snowing and raining and freezing.

Choir Tour 2011

Well I am finally blogging about our fun trip to san fran.

Day 1:     We got on the bus at 6:00 pm at the school and we drove all night to San Francisco, sleeping on a bus is not very easy or very comfortable but we made it to san fran the next morning around 7:00 ish and looked for somewhere to eat breakfast. We went to Denny's and they told us that 50 was too many people and that they wouldn't feed us. Next we tried to go to IHOP they said they would feed us but that it would probably take at least 2 hours for everyone to even get food so we ditched them and went to ... Mc Donald's we got breakfast and had to use their bathrooms to get ready for the day. After we finished up at Mc Donald's we got back on the bus and drove to the Golden Gate Bridge we got out and walked across the bridge with was a little over a mile long.

                  Nicole and Me

After we finished our excursion we got back on the bus and headed over to Ghirardelli  Factory, Nicole and I got some ice cream and it was so delicious also the waiter called us "honey" 90,000 times (kind of a creeper who had a creeper mustache.) we then went and got lunch at subway and looked at a couple stores and then had to walk almost two miles to find pier 33 so we wouldn't miss our boat to Alcatraz. While we were walking we passed pier 39 and it was huge and looked like it had fun stuff if we had time we would have stopped and checked it out. We got to take an audio tour through alcatraz which was really cool probably the best part of the whole trip! After the tour we got back on the boat to go back to the bus and two of our people missed the boat so we had to wait an hour for them to get back to us.

Once they finally got back we went to an anglican church service and a different choir was there that sang they were decent. Everyone was trying hard to stay awake cause we still hadn't been to our hotel yet that ended and we went to go get pizza but got stuck in traffic and it took us two hours to get to the pizza place and we were getting cranky but grateful to finally be eating. After we finished eating we finally got to go to the hotel to unpack and go to sleep!

Day 2: We got up the next morning and had time to get ready and eat breakfast at the hotel, we left at 10:15 and went to sing at Aragon High School when we walked in the doors a couple of the students were excited that utah people were there. Their choir sang a few songs for us and then we sang a few songs for them. Compared to our choir their choir was really small they had about 40 people in their choir and our choir has 104 people but only 43 of us went on tour. They sounded pretty good but we sounded better! Their conductor was an interesting guy and we'll just leave it at that. When we were thru there we went to a clinic at San Jose State with Charlene Archibeque and she showed us some things to make us better singers and how to be more controlled but still strong sounding. After that we made our way over to china town and all had dinner together at a nice restaurant that had yummy food then we were set loose to go shopping and looking around for a little while. We had to change for the symphony and china town had a lot of hills and I didn't want to walk up and down the hills in my heels so I wore my tennis shoes which made for an interesting outfit. Then we went to a symphony, Mozart's Requiem, at davies symphony hall. Almost everyone fell asleep during that cause we were all exhausted, I however stayed awake and enjoyed the music. After the symphony we got back on the bus and went back to the hotel for the night.

Day 3:  Saturday morning we woke up got ready and had breakfast at our hotel and left at 9:00 am to go to St. Agnes church to do a clinic with Paul McWilliams he is a guy from scotland who had the voice of an angel. He was in charge of the music for the masses so he was helping us prepare for our performances at the masses we would be singing at the next day. We showed him the songs we planned on singing and then we also learned four new songs that we also would be singing that next day. The church we were singing in was big but we were told that the cathedral we were going to be singing in was 5X bigger than the church we were in. After that clinic we went to haight and ashbury street to get some lunch and go to different stores. Nickie and I went to a little pizzeria and got some really yummy pizza. It was a crazy little street with a big history... it reminded me of the beetles and woodstock.

After lunch we made our way over to the California Academy of Science. They had a rain forest with real animals, an aquarium, and a star simulator thing. We went all around and looked at all the different things it took us about an hour and a half to get through it all so we had two hours to kill before our little star simulator show thing started so we just hung out in a little cafe. When it was time for our show we all went to the dome that it was in and when the show finally started most of us fell asleep again.

Then we got changed into nice clothes on the bus and made our way to the docks so we could get on our boat for the dinner dance cruise. We had rented out a boat and road around the San Francisco Bay while we had a nice dinner of chicken with rice, salad, rolls, then we went upstairs to get the dance party started! After our partying was over we went back to the hotel for the night but also had to pack up all our things so that we could check out the next morning.

Day 4: We woke up and had to hurry and get ready for the masses and make sure we had all of our things so we could check out. We went over to the Grace Cathedral to sing. The first mass we sang all the songs we had prepared and then the four that we had learned, the first mass was more family oriented and had a lot more children. The second mass was more serious, we sang the songs we prepared for that one and only sang those songs, there was a different choir there that sang the prayer songs and what not. After the masses we went to an lds church and sang for them in sacrament. By the time that we were in our third hour of church most of us were falling asleep. After church we changed, got on the bus, and headed for home. We stopped in Reno for dinner, and then slept the rest of the way home!

All of us in the Cathedral.

Over all San Francisco was a good mixture of fun and learning, the weather was cold, windy, and rainy, and the last day nice and sunny, we walked a lot up and down hills, and had a fun time getting to know each other better. I especially had a lot of fun with Nicole!

Preference 2011

Preference = Party
Allex really wanted me to go to preference with her so I gave in and we put a group together. In our group was me and Mark, Allex and August, and Lauryn and Jeremy. For our day date we talked about several different options which included ice skating, bowling with skittles, and the zoo, it was raining off and on all day so good thing we chose ice skating.  It took us 3,000 hours to get there, we had to pick up mark and august and then go pick up Jeremy and then back to Lauryn's house so she could get her skates, once we finally got there it was fun. Lauryn is pretty much a professional ice skater Allex and I can at least stand and move, August and Mark were trying to do tricks, and Jeremy was just being funny. We took pictures at my house so we could choose which ones we wanted and so that they were free and didn't suck. For dinner we went to Allex's favorite restuarant Brick Oven, we go quite often yet not often enough. Without fail we always share the feast for one, it is delicious plus it is so much food. We then finally decided it was time to head over to the dance which was held at Sleepy Ridge Golf Course it was pretty but small so there were lots of people stepping all over each other but still so much fun. After the dance we went and got Icees then took the boys home. This all made for a great night.

A Successful Monday . . .

Usually I hate Monday's they are almost the worst day of the week. Everyone is tired because it was just the weekend and everyones in a bad mood Monday's seem to drag on forever. But not today! To start off this good Monday it was a minimal day today making each class only an hour long. Then in my math class I got an A on my test which never ever happens I'm usually lucky to get a C. Then when I came home I got ready to get my schedule all put together for senior year, everything turned out great and I got all the classes I wanted. Then my mom and I went shopping and I found shoes for preference. After shopping my mom got me ice cream to reward my A in math and to top it all off I didn't have any homework. Today was definitely the best Monday ever.

2012.

SEOP's were today..you know what that means? I am getting closer and closer to being done with high school. That also means I have to start applying for scholarships, applying for colleges, getting the score I want on the ACT and getting good grades, its going to be stressful but hopefully fun at all the same time. Can't wait to be done with high school.... nervous to have to move out and be and adult. Good thing I still have a year and a half to figure things out.But before all that I have to figure what classes I am going to take and when and with which teachers, then I have to get all my classes finalized with skyward, then from their smooth sailing just have to finish senior year! (Junior year first of course)

Allex Muhlestein

Meet my best friend Allex Muhlestein, for short I call her Al.

She is the greatest. I met her in 5th grade when I moved here. We have always been friends even if we didn't hang out all the time.

We went to clear creek,

  We had choir together

we played on the same basketball team in 9th grade

We went to dixie

We played on the same Sophmore team... More like she played I watched!

Sometimes I don't realize it but she is always there for me, she is strong, and caring. She is the greatest friend anyone could ask for, I am glad I get to call her my best friend.
