The Facebook Challenge
A group of us including Me, Danielle, Madi, and Ben are sick of wasting time on facebook so we decided that we couldn't use facebook FOR A WHOLE WEEK. If we get on facebook before the week is up we owe everybody a candy bar. I thought it was going to be super hard because I am on facebook every single day, but it hasn't been quite as hard as I was thinking. I can almost say I don't miss it. We started this challenge last friday which means I have not been on facebook for 3 days and only 4 more days until I can reunite with my account.
Ridiculous
Spring in Utah is a joke.
Not snowing and raining and freezing.
Spring is supposed to be somewhat warm and nice outside.

Choir Tour 2011
Well I am finally blogging about our fun trip to san fran.
Day 1: We got on the bus at 6:00 pm at the school and we drove all night to San Francisco, sleeping on a bus is not very easy or very comfortable but we made it to san fran the next morning around 7:00 ish and looked for somewhere to eat breakfast. We went to Denny's and they told us that 50 was too many people and that they wouldn't feed us. Next we tried to go to IHOP they said they would feed us but that it would probably take at least 2 hours for everyone to even get food so we ditched them and went to ... Mc Donald's we got breakfast and had to use their bathrooms to get ready for the day. After we finished up at Mc Donald's we got back on the bus and drove to the Golden Gate Bridge we got out and walked across the bridge with was a little over a mile long.

After we finished our excursion we got back on the bus and headed over to Ghirardelli Factory, Nicole and I got some ice cream and it was so delicious also the waiter called us "honey" 90,000 times (kind of a creeper who had a creeper mustache.) we then went and got lunch at subway and looked at a couple stores and then had to walk almost two miles to find pier 33 so we wouldn't miss our boat to Alcatraz. While we were walking we passed pier 39 and it was huge and looked like it had fun stuff if we had time we would have stopped and checked it out. We got to take an audio tour through alcatraz which was really cool probably the best part of the whole trip! After the tour we got back on the boat to go back to the bus and two of our people missed the boat so we had to wait an hour for them to get back to us.

Once they finally got back we went to an anglican church service and a different choir was there that sang they were decent. Everyone was trying hard to stay awake cause we still hadn't been to our hotel yet that ended and we went to go get pizza but got stuck in traffic and it took us two hours to get to the pizza place and we were getting cranky but grateful to finally be eating. After we finished eating we finally got to go to the hotel to unpack and go to sleep!
Day 2: We got up the next morning and had time to get ready and eat breakfast at the hotel, we left at 10:15 and went to sing at Aragon High School when we walked in the doors a couple of the students were excited that utah people were there. Their choir sang a few songs for us and then we sang a few songs for them. Compared to our choir their choir was really small they had about 40 people in their choir and our choir has 104 people but only 43 of us went on tour. They sounded pretty good but we sounded better! Their conductor was an interesting guy and we'll just leave it at that. When we were thru there we went to a clinic at San Jose State with Charlene Archibeque and she showed us some things to make us better singers and how to be more controlled but still strong sounding. After that we made our way over to china town and all had dinner together at a nice restaurant that had yummy food then we were set loose to go shopping and looking around for a little while. We had to change for the symphony and china town had a lot of hills and I didn't want to walk up and down the hills in my heels so I wore my tennis shoes which made for an interesting outfit. Then we went to a symphony, Mozart's Requiem, at davies symphony hall. Almost everyone fell asleep during that cause we were all exhausted, I however stayed awake and enjoyed the music. After the symphony we got back on the bus and went back to the hotel for the night.

Day 3: Saturday morning we woke up got ready and had breakfast at our hotel and left at 9:00 am to go to St. Agnes church to do a clinic with Paul McWilliams he is a guy from scotland who had the voice of an angel. He was in charge of the music for the masses so he was helping us prepare for our performances at the masses we would be singing at the next day. We showed him the songs we planned on singing and then we also learned four new songs that we also would be singing that next day. The church we were singing in was big but we were told that the cathedral we were going to be singing in was 5X bigger than the church we were in. After that clinic we went to haight and ashbury street to get some lunch and go to different stores. Nickie and I went to a little pizzeria and got some really yummy pizza. It was a crazy little street with a big history... it reminded me of the beetles and woodstock.

After lunch we made our way over to the California Academy of Science. They had a rain forest with real animals, an aquarium, and a star simulator thing. We went all around and looked at all the different things it took us about an hour and a half to get through it all so we had two hours to kill before our little star simulator show thing started so we just hung out in a little cafe. When it was time for our show we all went to the dome that it was in and when the show finally started most of us fell asleep again.

Then we got changed into nice clothes on the bus and made our way to the docks so we could get on our boat for the dinner dance cruise. We had rented out a boat and road around the San Francisco Bay while we had a nice dinner of chicken with rice, salad, rolls, then we went upstairs to get the dance party started! After our partying was over we went back to the hotel for the night but also had to pack up all our things so that we could check out the next morning.
Day 4: We woke up and had to hurry and get ready for the masses and make sure we had all of our things so we could check out. We went over to the Grace Cathedral to sing. The first mass we sang all the songs we had prepared and then the four that we had learned, the first mass was more family oriented and had a lot more children. The second mass was more serious, we sang the songs we prepared for that one and only sang those songs, there was a different choir there that sang the prayer songs and what not. After the masses we went to an lds church and sang for them in sacrament. By the time that we were in our third hour of church most of us were falling asleep. After church we changed, got on the bus, and headed for home. We stopped in Reno for dinner, and then slept the rest of the way home!

Over all San Francisco was a good mixture of fun and learning, the weather was cold, windy, and rainy, and the last day nice and sunny, we walked a lot up and down hills, and had a fun time getting to know each other better. I especially had a lot of fun with Nicole!
